Kelley with SloanMy sister had her baby just after midnight on Wednesday, March 3rd. During the last few weeks of her pregnancy she had high blood pressure. That's the reason she was delayed from leaving the hospital. She was finally discharged on Saturday afternoon. However, if her blood pressure got worse she would need to go back to the hospital. They were home for about 4-5 hours and her blood pressure continued to be high. They went back to Centennial last night around 10. She had an EKG and CAT Scan and we found out that she has an enlarged heart and fluid on her lungs. They moved her to the ICU for monitoring. She is on oxygen to help from overworking her heart, magnesium sulfate for fluid reduction, as well as blood pressure and pain medication. She also had a blood transfusion from loss of blood during labor. Tomorrow she is having an MRI to see if she has any other signs of heart disease.
Anna Claire went to her pediatrician today, as well. She is doing good. She has a little jaundice, but not anything to worry about. She has been put on formula because my sister can not breastfeed or pump at this time. My mom and Kim are taking turns caring for Anna Claire while Daniel is at the hospital with my sister.

ReplyDeleteI got on your blog from looking at Courtney and David's blog. I was reading about your sister and what her and her family are going through. I wanted to email you and let you know that I am thinking about you, your sister and your family. I don't know if your sister told you or not, but she was one of my nurses when I was in Select Hospital recovering from my illness. Is there anyway that you can give me her email address so I can get in touch with her?? I would love to send her a note to let her know that I am thinking about her and am praying for them. Oh no! I'm so sorry! I will be praying for her. I say prayers with Serif every night at bedtime and we'll add that to our prayer list. =) I'm glad Anna's doing well and has great health! I'm sure mom will catch back up in no time. They all look great in the photos! Anna sure is a beauty!
