2 Week Appointment

Sloan had her two week doctor appointment yesterday. Everything was good...heart, ears, eyes, etc. However, she lost an ounce in a week, so she currently weighs 6 pounds and 1 ounce. We now have to bottle feed her the breast milk. We will go back on Monday, so she can be weighed. She was a very good girl.

Kelley Update

Kelley has been moved to a regular room at the Centennial Women's Hospital. The MRI showed that the pressure of the fluid around her heart was causing the heart to enlarge. They removed 8 liters of fluid from her body for the MRI. She is still on medicine to help remove more fluid. She had an ECHO today and the function of the heart is on the lower end of normal, but they will be montioring it over time. The cardiologist said she's developed Peripartum Cardiomyopathy. It is usually reversible, but only time will tell. However, she is feeling a lot better, but please continue to pray for her. I know she is ready to get home to Anna Claire.

Pray for Kelley

Kelley, Anna Claire and Daniel

Kelley with Sloan

My sister had her baby just after midnight on Wednesday, March 3rd. During the last few weeks of her pregnancy she had high blood pressure. That's the reason she was delayed from leaving the hospital. She was finally discharged on Saturday afternoon. However, if her blood pressure got worse she would need to go back to the hospital. They were home for about 4-5 hours and her blood pressure continued to be high. They went back to Centennial last night around 10. She had an EKG and CAT Scan and we found out that she has an enlarged heart and fluid on her lungs. They moved her to the ICU for monitoring. She is on oxygen to help from overworking her heart, magnesium sulfate for fluid reduction, as well as blood pressure and pain medication. She also had a blood transfusion from loss of blood during labor. Tomorrow she is having an MRI to see if she has any other signs of heart disease.

Anna Claire went to her pediatrician today, as well. She is doing good. She has a little jaundice, but not anything to worry about. She has been put on formula because my sister can not breastfeed or pump at this time. My mom and Kim are taking turns caring for Anna Claire while Daniel is at the hospital with my sister.

Please pray for her and our family.

My sister had her baby after a long day and night of labor. She was induced in the morning, but ended up having a c-section at midnight. I wasn't able to be there because of Sloan's feeding time, but I couldn't stop thinking about them. I got to visit her in my 3 hour feeding window today while Ricky watched Sloan. She is so precious!! Sloan is very excited to have a cousin and I am very excited to be an aunt.

Adapting to the Fuzzy Babies

Today we let Sydney on the bed with Sloan. It was very entertaining. Sydney was very curious and didn't know what to think. Sloan really could have cared less. Overall Sydney is ver good with her. She just sniffs and looks at her. We haven't tried with Shelby (Our Jack Russell) very much. I've held Shelby and let her look and sniff her but, that's about it.

Her First Boo Boo

Sloan went to the doctor today to followup on her level of jaundice. In order to do the jaundice test they have to prick her foot and draw some blood. Alana hates needles but, Sloan didn't even cry. She's a tuff little Girl.

Trying Out The New Bouncy

Sloan loves her bouncy seat. It plays music and vibrates. It's her own personal massage chair. I gotta get me one of those.

Time to go home

Sloan came home on Friday. She was slightly jaundiced but she had her first check up today and that has almost went completely away now. She was having trouble pooping for most of the weekend but, today she pooped twice. I was never so happy to see poop in my life.
