The New Addition

Sloan is doing well. She passed her hearing test today and is a very happy little baby. She doesn't fuss much except for when she is wanting to nurse or when she has a stinky diaper. Other than those times she is very content.

Sloan Abigail Morris

Baby Sloan was born at 11:45 AM on Wednesday, February 25th. Mother and baby are both doing great. She is 7 pounds 2.25 ounces. 21" Long. She has a head full of dark hair. It has been a very long night and mom and baby are both very tired.

Visitors Welcome Thursday. We will post a room # when we have moved to our actual room.

10 CM

We are at 10 CM. Starting to push now.

8 CM

The doctor just came in and we have progressed to 8 CM. She also said that the baby has dropped a little further. Alana isn't really feeling much so that is good. She's actually been surfing the internet some. Hopefully things will continue to go well.

Here comes the flood

Our doctor came in at 8:15 AM. We were still dilated at 7 CM. She decided to break Alana's water and this should help her dilate further. Stay Tuned

We are at the Hospital

I had a feeling when I left work today that I wouldn't be back. I started having contractions around 5:30 p.m. when Ricky came to pick me up. But, they weren't consistent. I got a pedicure at 6:30 p.m....only having 3 contractions during my pedicure. At 8:23 p.m. I started having 1 minute contractions every 5 minutes until we arrived at the hospital (midnight). After checking in I was dilated at 3cm, but the contractions were not that painful. Ricky and I thought we might be going back home. The nurse came back at 1:00 a.m. and I was dilated to 4cm, which is active labor. I wanted to wait for the epidural until I was 5cm, which was around 3:00 a.m. After the epidural I had a nap from 4:00-6:00 a.m. Natalie, my nurse, came to check on me and now I'm dilated to 7cm. I feel good, no pain and Sloan is maintaining a good heart rate. There is a shift change at 7:00, so I'll probably know more after that occurs.

Getting Ready

Well, we're packed and ready to go! (of course we have been for 3 weeks now) Today was my 39 week appointment...I'm dilated 2cm and 50% effaced. We set the date for February 28th to be induced if she doesn't come before. So, everyday is just a waiting game.

Sydney got into Sloan's Socks

Sydney has been so jealous of all the little dresses and socks Sloan has been getting, so she decided she needed to borrow some.
